The SM 57 is a cardioid dynamic microphone made by Shure.
It is renowned for it's build quality and is commonly used on guitar amplifiers and snare drums. However, it is widely recognized as highly versatile and is used to capture a wide range of sources.
It is similar to the SM 58 in that they share the same capsule and have a similar body design. It is claimed to have been used for many years by American presidents.
