Monitoring

Monitoring is the act of listening to audio as you record or prepare to record. It helps both the recording engineer make adjustments to levels and affects and allows the musician to hear their own performance amplified through headphones while recording.
Monitoring through the studio monitors is not recommend unless they are in a soundproof control room separate from the recording room.
