John Cohrs

Bio from Jackpot! Recording Studio Website

"Jon Cohrs fell into the recording world by splicing cassettes and looping old 1⁄2" tape on a discarded Otari tape machine. Over the years he's played in many bands and recorded odd music in London, Zurich, Alaska, and now Portland.

He's learned some of his tricks mixing records from British producer Fran Ashcroft (who worked with Damon Albarn of Blur, Abbey Road Studios, and Trident Studios). Lately, Jon's been stealing ideas from locals Larry Crane and Jeff Saltzman. Upon losing his spleen, he began mastering records under the assumed business name of Spleenless Mastering.

At Jackpot! Jon likes to bring his odd collection of 7 dollar mics, his dedicated audio mulching laptop, and other assortments of electronics to spice up sessions.

He's work with artists such as Talk Demonic, Tara Jane O'Neil, The Roulettes, The Dykeritz, ModernState, Quiet Countries, and The Volumes." "
