The D112 is a large diaphragm dynamic microphone made by AKG Acoustics. It is specifically designed for kick drums although it is used for other bass instruments such as electric bass guitar.
It can handle sound pressure levels (SPL) of 160db and has good low frequency response.
It is used by many studio's and PA companies around the world.
